UEDING, Joseph

JOSEPH UEDING FUNERAL TODAY

The remains of Joseph Ueding, who died at 8:45 o’clock Saturday evening at his home in Effingham, Ill., arrived in this city Monday afternoon and were taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. Mary Kramer, 427 Vigo street. Mr. Ueding was aged 66 years. Death came after a lingering illness from Bright's disease. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 o’clock Tuesday morning from St. John's Catholic church. Burial will be made in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

Mr. Ueding was born on a farm in Knox county about three miles south of Vincennes and spent his early life as a carpenter in this city. He lived in Terre Haute for a number of years, recently going to Effingham where he was associated in the shoe business with his brother, William Ueding. The deceased is survived by the widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Ueding, one brother, William Ueding, and one sister, Mrs. Kramer, of Vincennes.

UNSWORTH, Cherlyn Sue

Cherlyn Sue Unsworth, 59, entered into eternal rest at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.

Cherlyn was born Dec. 23, 1947, in Vincennes, to George W. and Marie (Wheelden) Unsworth. Her parents preceded her in death.

Cherlyn had been a clerk at the customer service desk at the Vincennes Kmart for several years. She was a lifelong resident of Vincennes and was a member of Franklin Heights Christian Church and was also affiliated with Central Church of Christ in Vincennes. Cherlyn enjoyed making crafts and giving them to her friends. She was a registered Boy Scout leader with Troop 210 and was a troop committee member. Cherlyn also enjoyed playing bingo.

Survivors include sisters, Evelyn Tackett and Janet Rembacz both of Vincennes; a brother, George Unsworth II also of Vincennes. Also surviving are a nephew who she raised, Kyle Rembacz-Horton; nieces, Stormy Durham, Chelsea Unsworth and Jace Unsworth; and a great-niece, Amanda Beamon.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main St., with the Rev. Roger Wright officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

UTT, Ruth L.

OAKTOWN — Ruth L. Utt, 88, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at Oak Village Nursing Home.

Born June 13, 1915, in Plainville, she was the daughter of Robert and Florence (Williams) King.

She was a homemaker and member of Oaktown Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth E. Utt of Oaktown, whom she married Feb. 12, 1932; three sons, Kenneth Bruce Utt and his wife, Margaret; Bradley R. Utt, and Gordon E. Utt and his wife Carolyn Sue, all of Oaktown; seven grandchildren, Kent Utt and his wife, Amy, Dale Utt and his wife, Winde, Grant Utt and his wife, Julia, Scott Utt, Cindy Utt, Susan Utt, and Becky Lathrop and her husband, Martin; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

A private funeral service will be conducted Saturday at McClure-Utt Funeral Home in Oaktown by the Rev. Todd Barnhizer. Burial will be in Oaktown Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home, 100 W. Main St., Oaktown.
