QUALLS, James

James Qualls, 76, 1900 College Ave., Vincennes, died at 9:57 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.

Born May 22, 1929, in Vincennes, he was the son of Joe and Blanche (Bell) Qualls.

James retired from the Post Office after 27 years. He had previously worked at McGiffen Dairy. He was a member of the First Nazarene Church and served in the Army.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Qualls of Vincennes, whom he married Sept. 21, 1968; one brother, David Qualls and his wife, Carolyn, of Vincennes; one sister, Dorothy Moore and her husband, John, of Arlington, Texas; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Midkiff of Vincennes; two nieces; and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Blanche (Bell) Qualls; and one nephew.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St., by the Rev. Michael Taylor and the Rev. John Leffler. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
