This building, erected in 1875, was for some years the handsomest one in town, but is now surpassed in size and finish by some others. The lower rooms are occupied by the neat grocery store of John R. Canine, and John Rogers, cabinet maker. Above are two office rooms and the public hall sometimes called the "Opera House". The building is owned by S. J. Milligan.
NOTE: below is another view after the boardwalk awning was removed. This building sat on the north east corner of Cross and Main Streets.
