Note: John Kelsey on Facebook (March 2016) told me that the Hatfields (Stanley and Grace Swango) lived in Crawfordsville (305 E. College). They came from Greene County, Indiana (where Stanley was born in Owensburg, on the 19th of September in 1889 son of John L. and Ella Strosnider) and had at least two children, Fred and Mildred. He was tall, almost 6', with blue eyes and brown hair, and began his working career as a blacksmith and implement dealer. In the 1940 census (Crawfordsville), they owned a rooming house as well as the Sporting Goods Store. John said that Stanley was a hunter and told great stories. Stanley died on the 25th of January in 1965, Grace 25 years later at age 101, still living alone.
