POSTON BRICK

Source: Crawfordsville Daily News-Review June 11, 1901

The wheels begun turning yesterday at the Poston Brick Plant and a partial force is now engaged moulding the paving blocks. They have been able to finish but three of their twelve kilns owing to the scarcity of brick and it is likely that they will have to wait for brick of their own manufacturer to complete them. Two and perhaps three kilns will be filled this week and the fires started. They expect to have everything in readiness and to begin work in earnest about the first of July. - transcribed by kbz

The Poston Brick Company will put in two new kilns in a few weeks, making eleven in all with a capacity of 700,000 bricks a month. The new kilns were necessitated by the securing of the Washington Street contract. A new switch is also being constructed to the factory.
