NATURAL GAS COMPANY

Sept.30, 1899 CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN. Farmers who have any considerable amount of wood on hand are preparing for a harvest this year. Only one load was brought to town today, and that was bought by the manager of the Natural Gas Company. The gas supply has been miserable all this fall, and especially during the last week, but this morning it broke down completely. In many places it simply quit burning, and nowhere was there an adequate supply for cooking or heating purposes. To those who complain at the office the statement is made that the pumping station is out of order, and will not be repaired for several days. It is the same pump that got out of order every cold snap last Winter.
