Jeschke Wire

This later became Sommer's -- O.W. and Christella, his wife purchased the business in 1935. Located on Poston Drive

Mr. Jeschke was Woodard Gregory Jeschke, son of Harry and Nellie Jewett Jeschke. He was born in Iowa on 13 May 1897 and passed in Florida 3 Jan 1979 where he retired in the 1950s. He was a WWI veteran. Quite a steel man, he did not live in Montgomery County long, living in several upper Indiana towns (Mishawka, Gary, South Bend) as well as Milwaukee, while selling his wares. Specialty was utensil stamping, making quite a fortune during WWII with mess kits and other Army service pieces. His father, Harry was an education writer, constantly working on improving America's educational system, travelling the world comparing other countries to ours. Woodard, too, was an adventurer. Interesting man! Sorry for the poor picture.
