Note: For weeks, Bischof's Big Store would give 10% of sales from some part of their stores. It was quite a unique promotion with money going to the building of the new Union Hospital, which when the Culver family gave a large amount, it was dubbed Culver Union Hospital and remained so for 60 or so years. Here is an example of The Big Store's daily notations.

The hospital fund was increased $51.20 by Mr. Bischof's ten per cent donations of sales at The Big Store yesterday, making from this source $503.36.

We are very anxious to make the hospital fund $100 tomorrow, the last day of the sale, and by reading the Big Store news in today's paper, it will be seen enough bargains are offered to make it possible to double even that amount.
