“Waveland Scraps” – We are happy to learn that our worthy post master, Mr. Green is having the Sam Good saloon building (destroyed last June) refitted. We learn that in a short time he intends moving the post office into said room.

Whittington, John - Insane -- Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal 1 March 1895 p3
A commission composed of Justice Scott and Chumasero and Drs. Barcus and Chambers decided Tuesday that John D. Whittington was of unsound mind. The evidence showed that about 12 years ago he had an accident to his head which is probably the cause of his present trouble. He will receive treatment at once. Same Source p 8 – John Whittington, of this place, who has been adjudged of unsound mind, eluded his watchers at the hospital of the jail Tuesday and jumped from the window to the roof of the porch and thence to the ground. His thigh was broken.
