Webb Family (genealogy)
Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal Friday, 6 June 1902
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Manford Webb at Wingate Friday night, which completes the chain of representatives of five generations of this family. All of the representatives are of the male persuasion, and all of them live in Wingate, except the great great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Webb, who reside in Romney. The living ancestors of this new born son are as follows, in order of seniority:
Mrs. and Mrs. Reuben Webb, Horace and Sarah Webb, Charles and Ollie Webb, Manford and Anna Webb. The little one will be called Reuben, in honor of his great great grandfather. Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Webb are each 84 years old, and on May 5 of this year celebrated their 63d wedding anniversary. Mr. Webb served all through the Civil War, in the 40th Ind., and aside from weak eyesight caused in the army, he is hale and hearty, as is also his wife. His son, Horace Webb, also has an honorable war record, having served in the 63d Indiana. A wound in the head has seriously impaired his eyesight also. Altogether it is a remarkable case of family vitality and longevity. - s
