The Croy Creek Church will hold their annual Christmas services on Christmas eve beginning at 7:30. The first part of the program will be devoted to a few recitations and miscellaneous numbers given by the children. A cantata: The Heart of the Bells will then be presented by the young people. This is a beautiful legend of an old church which was noted for its wonderful chime of the bells. At Christmas it was the custom of the people to bring their gifts as an offering to the Christ Child. And when the greatest offering was laid on the altar there would come sounding forth the chime of bells. For many years the bells had not been heard. Come! See whose gift is worthy to set the chimes ringing. The case will be as follows: Ben Hur, Of the Plain People…Norvil Nagle. Orpah, His sister …Alma Johnson. Esther, A Lady in Waiting … Olive Baumunk. Minerva, Flavia and Vesta children of the court of Augusts … Jessie Johnson, Helen Raab and Helen Neese. Claudius, The King’s Courier … Frank McCullough. Valeria, the rich man’s daughter … Genevia Boyd. Hercules, the palace guard … Ralph Raab. Temple boys … Dannie Craft, Guy Harris and Kenneth Raab.
