Located on Highway 42, five miles east of Cloverdale

1957 revival with Paul Kercher, Florida Evangelist – from Sun Aug 4 11 a.m. to Sunday Aug 9 7:30 pm. – Week nights at 7:30 p.m.  Kercher – graduate of Stassen University, Florida and has had two years at the Baptist Theological College He is associate pastor of the Avondale Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Fla, which has a membership of 1600 persons. For two years he was youth director of the First Baptist Church in Cocoa, Fla. Music under the direction of Rev. and Mrs. Ike Strain  Ike the pastor of Big Walnut.  He is a graduate of Indiana University where he majored in music. Advanced religious training was received at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky. This coming school year he will teach music in the Reelsville schools. Mrs. Strain is a graduate of the Baptist College in South Dakota and will teach in the Greencastle schools. Wednesday night, Aug 7 is Youth Rally night, after which there will be an after-glow party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Mann.  The minister of the Amity Baptist Church is Richard Deam a graduate of Purdue who will enter the third year at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary at Louisville this fall. The public is invited.

The Rev Arnold Carl Westphal, affectionately know as the “Children’s Sheperd” will be at the Amity Baptist Church, 5 miles east of Cloverdale on Sunday Nov 19. Mr. Westphal served in WWI and as chaplain during WWII. Mr. and Mrs. Westphal play many strange musical instruments such as the choral glasses, several kinds of bells and the theremin. Mr. Westphal uses paper tearing, rope ties and mechanical devices to help preach the Gospel.  He has held meetings in over 5,000 churches during his ministry.  The Westphals will be at the Amity Baptist Church for two services next Sunday at 10:15 am and 7:00 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend.
