PENSIONS

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal, 1 March 1895 ST. LOUIS Globe-Democrat:

It is a curious fact that a Democratic Congress has fixed the minimum pension of soldiers of the civil war at $6 per month, and that of soldiers of the Mexican war at $12 per month. It is proper to add that a large majority of the former are Republicans, while most of the latter are not.
