Fanny C. Luce submitted by Robin Caldwell
On the 24th of August, 1852, on the steamer Gov. Miegs near Evansville, Indiana, of the Cholera, Mrs. Fanny C. Luce, consort of Martin D. Luce, and daughter of Raswell and Perlina Crocker of Madison, Luke Co., Ohio, aged 29 years 4 months and 2 days. She was born in the township of Amherst, Lorin County., Ohio and there resided until she was induced to journey South in company with her husband, but in the moring of life she was called away from earth, where her remains were deposited in the city graveyard in Evansville: her sudden departure from our midst will long be felt by her husband and numerous relatives and friends. Mr. Luce is an esteemed member of the order of Odd Fellows, to the Brothers of the order at Evansville he tenders his most sincere thanks in assisting him consigning the remains of his Beloved to the tomb.
