"A number of inquiries have been received at the
Tribune for a receipt how to make dandelion wine. The
following is said to be the best method known: Take three
quarts dandelion blossoms; put one gallon boiling water on
them; let stand 24 hours; strain; add three pounds sugar and
let boil one hour; cool and add the peelings and juices of
two oranges and two lemons; 1 table spoon yeast; one pint
molasses; let stand ten days; then strain and put in jugs
and let stand two months; bottle."
