Snoddy's Mill in the Making!

Picture taken in 1906 during the building of Snoddy Mill in Wabash Township, now the scene of restoration by the Fountain County Historical Society.  The mill was then owned by Milton Snoddy with the Dody Brothers constructing the present 126' concrete dam at a cost of $5,000.
Standing in the foreground are Snoddy and Dody (wearing the gold watch chain).  Dr. Charles Coggins sits in the rear of the buggy.  Dot Elwell Hoover and daughter, who cooked for the gang stand at the left of the picture.  The large store to the left was run by Elmer Snoddy.
Other helpers pictured include Harry Snoddy, Randolph Richardson, Stanton Keller, Herbert Woodrow, Women are Mrs. Lida Snoddy (wife of Milton), Mrs. Odella Snoddy Coggins (wife of the Dr.), Miss Ruth Adams, little girl adopted by the Coggins'; and Mrs. Ben Snoddy Merryman (the small girl).
