Slattery, John - Fountain Photos

Slattery, John (thanks to CDPL for this photo - C'ville Library is great and has a wonderful collection of photos -- John Slattery was born in Limerick County, Ireland in 1841. In Montgomery County, Indiana he apprenticed to a saddlemaker but when he lived in Covington, Fountain County, he owned a tavern. He served in the 86th Indiana Infantry during the Civil War, Co. K. Also from CDPL below is a photo of John in later life. He died 28 January 1890 in Covington. He was married to Elizabeth McCabe and they had 9 children.
