BLAKE  --  COONS

BLAKE, Nathan to James L. COONS --This indenture, made the nineteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-two between Nathan Blake and Martha his wife of the county of Parke and State of Indiana of the first part and James L. Coons of the same place of the second part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of thirty dollars, lawful money to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, doth hereby give, grant, bargain, sell, convey, and assigns forever the following tract of land situated lying and being in the County of Parke and State aforesaid and known and designated as follows, to wit: being part of the west half of the southwest quarter of section (34) thirty-four in Township number (15) fifteen north of range (6) six west containing 10½ acres to be the same more or less. To have and to hold the premises aforesaid with all the rights privileges and appurtenance thereof unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever; and the said party of the first part, for themselves their heirs and executors covenant and agree with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid and that they are free from all encumbrances and the said premises in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part his heirs and  assigns against the lawful claims and demands of all persons the said party of the first part and their heirs executors and administrators will forever warrant and defend. In testimony whereof the said party of the first part  have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written.  Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of  Samuel Davis N. M. Mershon Nathan Blake  Martha Blake State of Indiana County of Parke  Be it remembered that on this day, to wit: the 19th day of October A.D.  1842 before me the undersigned, a Justice of the Peace in and for said county, personally came the within named Nathan Blake and Martha Blake, his wife, and severally acknowledged that they signed, sealed and delivered the within deed of conveyance for the use and purpose therein contained, and Martha, wife of the said Nathan Blake, being by me first examined separate and apart from her said husband and the contents of said deed being by me made known to her acknowledged that she signed, sealed and delivered the  same as her own voluntary act without compulsion or coercion from her said husband. (Martha Blake was the daughter of William and Hannah Miner Noble and first married Thomas Ray in Franklin County, KY. She married Nathan Blake in Parke County.)


Coons to Cornell


This Indenture made the nineteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two, between James L. Coons and Elizabeth his wife of the county of Parke and State of Indiana of the first part, and Jesse Cornell of the County of Parke and State of Indiana of the second part, witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars, lawful money to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged doth hereby give, grant, bargain, and sell convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever the following tract of land situated, lying and being in the county of Parke and State of Indiana and known and designated as  follows,   towit: the West half of the South west quarter of section thirty four (34) in Township (15) fifteen North of Range 6 six west Containing 80 acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the premises aforesaid with all the  rights privileges and appurtenances thereof unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part for themselves their heirs, and executors, covenant and agree with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid and that they are free from all incumbrances; and the said premises in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of   all persons, the said party of the first part and their heirs, executors,  and administrators will forever warrant and defend. DELP, Urial of Parke County, Indiana was issued a land patent by the Crawfordsville General Land Office July 1, 1852.  Certificate No. 35886 for the NW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Sec. 13 in Twp 17 N of Rg 7W.  Cash sale for 40 acres approved by President Millard Fillmore.  Again, thanks to Bryan Delp


 

HINES  -- MILLER

This Indenture, made this Second day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty six between Henry Hines of the County of Ozark and State of Missouri of the first part, and John Miller & Tobias Miller of the County of Parke and State of Indiana of the second part, Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the Sum of Eight hundred and fifty dollars, to the said party of the first part, by the party of the Second part in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and Sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, Sell and convey unto the said party of the Second part, all the following described pieces or parcels of land; lying and being in the County of Parke and State of Indiana and known and designated as follows, to wit, all of that part of the South east quarter Section twenty eight, in Township fifteen, North of Range Six west that  lies on the South Side of Big Raccoon Creek, Supposed to contain forty acres, to the same more or less To have and to hold, the above described premises, with all the appurtenances to the same belonging, to the said party of the second part, to their heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part, for themselves and his heirs, doth hereby Covenant  with the said party of the second part and their heirs that he is lawfully seized in fee of the premises aforesaid; that the premises are free and clear from all incumbrances whatsoever and that he will forever Warrant and defend the same with all the appurtenances, unto the said John Miller and Tobias Miller and to their heirs and assigns, against the lawful claim of all persons whatsoever. In witness whereof, the said Henry Hines and his Wife, who hereby relinquishes her right of dower to the above described premises, hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.Signed, Sealed, and delivered , in presence of) Henry Hines (Seal) Thomas L. Brown, William Williams )State of Missouri Ozark County SS ) Personally appeared before the undersigned one of the Acting Justices of peace of said County Henry Hines, acknowledged the  foregoing deed of Conveyence to be his voluntary act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned. Also the wife of the said who being by me examined, separate and apart from, and without the hearing of her of her said husband, and the full contents thereof being made known to her, acknowledged the foregoing instrument to be her voluntary act and deed, and  that she did sign, seal, and deliver, the same voluntarily without fear, coertion or compulsion of or from her said husband. Given under my hand and seal, this 2. Day of April 1846  Thomas L. Brown (Seal) State of Missouri ) County of Ozark )I, Samuel Martin Clerk of the Circuit Court of said County Do hereby Certify that Thomas L. Brown, was duly Commissioned & qualified as a Justice of the Peace within and for said County and State before whom the within Deed of Conveyance was acknowledged was then and is an acting Justice of the Peace and his official acts, are entitled to full faith and credit. HINES  -- BLAKE

PARKE COUNTY, INDIANA DEEDS  This Indenture made this twenty third day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one between Jacob Hines & Sarah Hines  his wife of the county of Parke and State of Indiana of the first part and John Blake of the same place of the second part Witnesseth that the said  party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Seven hundred dollars, to them in hand, paid, the receipt thereof is acknowledged doth hereby give, grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto the said party of   the second part his heirs and assigns forever, all that certain tract or parcel of Land, situated lying and being in the county of Parke aforesaid and known and designated in the district of lands offered for Sale at Crawfordsville Indiana Viz, the South East quarter of the North west quarter of section twenty Eight in Township No fifteen North of Range six west, containing thirty acres to be the same more or less, all lying of the North side of Raccoon Creek & also the South East quarter of the North West quarter of section No Twenty eight in Township No. Fifteen North of Range six west containing forty (40) acres: and also ten acres bounded as follows, towit: commencing at the South east corner of the west half of the Northwest quarter of Section No twenty Eight Township and Range aforesaid thence North forty poles with the line dividing the West half and the East of the North west quarter of Section twenty Eight in said Township and Range, thence East with said line forty poles to the place of beginning containing ten acres To have and to hold the said granted and bargained  premises together with all the privileges and appurtenances thereof unto the said party of the first part, for themselves, their heirs , executors and administrators, doth covenant with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized of the premises above conveyed and that they are free from all incumbrances and the above bargained premises, in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party  of the second part his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims and demands of all persons, the said party of the first part and their heirs will forever warrant and defend. In witness whereof the said party of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written. SANDERS

This Indenture made this first day of February in the year of our Lord one   thousand eight hundred and thirty seven between Henry Sanders and Rachel Sanders his wife of the county of Parke and state of Indiana, of the first part and Jacob Hines of the county and State aforesaid of the second part  Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is acknowledged, do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, all that certain tract or parcel of land situated in Union Township Parke County Indiana towit commencing at the south east corner of the west half of the North west quarter of section twenty eight, in Township fifteen north of  range six west, thence north forty poles, with the line dividing the west half and the east half of the North west quarter of section twenty eight Township fifteen north of range six west thence west forty poles thence south forty poles to the line dividing the north west quarter and the south west quarter of section twenty eight in township fifteen north of range six west, thence forty poles east with said line to the place of beginning.   Estimated to contain ten acres - to have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises together with all the privileges and appurtenances thereof, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever; and the said party of the first part for their heirs executors and  administrators doth covenant with the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized of the premises above conveyed, and that they are free from all incumbrances, and the above bargained premises, in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of all persons the said party of the first part, and their heirs
