Superintendent's Report April 3, 1891
To the Trustees of the Waveland Public School:
Gentlemen -- It gives me pleasure to submit herewith the Third Annual Report of the Waveland Public School for the year ending April 3, 1891.
The school year contained one hundred and thirty-five days.
In general, I wish to call attention to the excellent supper given by patrons and citizens to teachers and school authorities. Loyalty of patrons and pride in our schools are two essential factors in maintaining a high standard. It gives encouragement to teachers and insiration to pupils.
The wisdom of the Board is conceded in placing before patrons the printed report of the school. It unifies, strengthens, and gives direction and force to the work.
In our last report yourattention was called to a series of adjustments necessary to raising and maintaining a high standard of scholarship and deportment. Whilst not all of the adjustments have been made necessary to the greatest efficiency of the school, it is duty to say at this point, that the Board responded to its fullest limit, and that both teachers and patrons are under obligations for this generous consideration.
Your attention is called to the following ststisitical review which shows the numerical standing of the school:
*NOTE: the mentioned table was partially cut off in printing. There is one available in the 1896 Waveland Annual Report
Also, The right edge of the report was also missing and I took the liberty to fill in the blank letters.
