Waveland, Ind Feb 2 – James Boswell of Bloomington has been awarded the contract for constructing the new consolidated school building at this place. George Stout and WC Carr & Son of Crawfordsville were the only two other bidders and their prices were several thousand higher than Boswell’s. Work on the building will start in the Spring and be completed so that the school may be occupied early in October. Padgett & Dickenson of Terre Haute are the architects. The building will be constructed of pressed brick with stone trimmings and will be two stories and basement which will have a ceiling 18’ high. The basement will have a gymnasium bath and other conveniences. There will be six classrooms on the first floor, a library room and the office of the superintendent. On the second floor there will be a large assembly room and four class rooms. There will be a system for vacuum cleaning and a series of fans for ventilation purposes all of which will be propelled by a gas engine. Drinking water will be provided by means of sanitary fountains.
