Four class members began the fifty-seven year history of Alamo High School and four class members will end the history that was, for a short while, an intimate part of hundreds of Alamo High School students lives.Mrs. Mary Selby, Mr. George Brown, Mr. Clyde Rodgers, and Mr. Fred Hudson fraduated from here in the year of 1910. Sine that time these people have led interesting lives.
Three of these graduates contributed to society by teaching school. Mrs. Mary Selby received her teachers training at Danville, Indiana. Shere taught at Hibernia, and also here in our own grade school at Alamo.
Mr. George Brown graduated from what is now Indiana State University in 1916 with an A. B. degree. In 1913 Mr. Brown received a B. S. degree specializing in Industrial Arts and Science. He has yaught in public school for twenty-seven years.
Mr. Fred Hudson also taught in public school from 1917 until 1950.
Upon graduation, Mr. Clyde Rodgers entered the business and political fields. He served as Montgomery County Treasurer from 1926 until 1929. In 1930 he became the manager of American Securities at Crawfordsville and served in that post until 1964.
These first four graduates were the beging to a line of success that continues even today. With the 1967 Commenancement exercises on May12, the final four graduates will embark upon their careers to lengthen that line to even grater distances.
