JOHNSON

LAFAYETTE — Bruce Johnson, 68, of 1219 Potomic St., Lafayette, died at 9:26 p.m. Monday in his home. He had been in ill health for several years. Mr. Johnson was a painting contractor and musician. He was born in Monroe County, reared at Romney and had lived at Crawfordsville prior to moving to Lafayette in 1955. He was a member of the Romney Presbyterian Church, Lafayette Federation of Musicians, Romney Masonic Lodge 441, Murat Temple and Scottish Rite of Indianapolis and Lafayette Shrine Club. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Rex Murray of Idaville and Mrs. Roger Lincoln of Winamac, and two brothers, Paul of Indianapolis and Bryce of Waveland. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Sollar-Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph G. Wick officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at Romney. Evelene Johnson, 73, of Bloomington, died Sunday at her residence.  Born Jan. 6, 1924, in Greene County, she was the daughter of Otha and Roxie Abram. She was a homemaker and had worked at RCA for more than 17 years. She was a retired employee of Indiana University. She was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.  Survivors include her husband, Forrest "Bud" Johnson; one daughter, Pamela McGlothlin of Bloomington; two granddaughters; three nieces and two nephews.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Hudson; and two brothers, Lawrence Abram and Henry Abram.  Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Church of Christ with Brothers Keevin Gray and Warren Vandeventer officiating. Burial will be at Whitehall Cemetery.  Friends may call 2-9 p.m. today at the Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. – unknown source newspaper

BLOOMINGTON — Suzanne Boldt Johnson, 86, of Bloomington, IN formerly of Evansville, IN went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 23, 2019. She was born February 6, 1933 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of the late William and Lucile Boldt. Her mother passed away at a young age and the mom she knew best was the late Eleanor Boldt. Sue lived out her faith in Jesus for much of her life in the United Methodist Church. She was a Registered Nurse and graduated from Northwestern University, where she met her beloved husband of over 64 years Charles W. Johnson (Chuck). They spent the past 3 years at Redbud Retirement Community where they were blessed with many friends and a wonderful home. Sue’s passion was her family. When they weren’t visiting, she loved to keep up with her kids, grandkids and most recently great grandkids lives by phone and with her iPad. She also kept in touch with her dear friends by computer, phone and mail. Sue is survived by her husband Chuck; her daughter, Martha Agee (husband J.) of Castle Rock, CO; her two sons, David Johnson (wife Kim) of Bloomington, IN and Robert Johnson (wife Meg) of Nashville, TN; eight grandchildren, John Agee (Celine), Sarah Turner (Steven), Rebecca Prensner (Matt), Stephen Agee, Joshua Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Elisabeth Johnson (Matthew Dohoney), and Shoshanna Johnson; and two great grandchildren, Katelyn Turner and Luka Charles Agee. Family and close friends will celebrate Sue’s life at 11 AM Saturday January 18, 2020 at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home in Bloomington, IN, officiated by Pastor Doug Schroeder. William D Johnston; sisters Mary Johnston, Elisabeth Yager & Mrs. David Ross; brother William H Johnston   Preceded in death by two brothers and on sister.  Burial in Arlington National Cemetery – shared by Judy Jefferson
