DAUGHERTY
Mrs. Daugherty, who resided a short distance northwest of town, died on the 10th instant, aged 94 years. The old lady had been blind during the 40 years previous to her death. - Bloomington Progress Volume 3 Number 16 on 18 Aug 1869
DAVIS
Al Davis Never Regained Consciousness After Hay Loft Tumble - Without having regained consciousness, Al Davis, the aged man who fell from a hay loft at the Lanum barn Wednesday night, died at the Bloomington Hospital at seven o'clock last evening. The fall produced concussion of the brain. Davis was born in South Carolina in 1858 and came to Indiana during the Civil War. For many years he followed farming. His wife died September 22, 1909. The deceased is survived by two brothers, William and Zib, and a sister Mrs. Stout, in Indianapolis. Funeral at Bethel Church tomorrow at ten o'clock in charge of the Rev. T. R. Ira S Davis, age 83 Born in Monroe Co., IN Died August 30, 1956 in Bloomington, IN He was a resident of Unionville, IN The last surviving member of his family. Survived by wife, Theodocia and a number of nieces & nephews. Services at Old Unionville Church of Christ with Lon McClary officiating. DEARMAN
WIDOW DIES AT ARLINGTON - Illness of Several Months Fatal to Lucinda Dearmin (last name spelled different in a couple of places) Mrs. Lucinda Dearman, age 77, dies at 2:15 p. m. Monday at her home east of Arlington. She had been ill several months with carcinoma. She is the widow of Monroe Dearmin, who died in 1925. The survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Clara Akers, three sons, Lawson, Orin and John, and one brother. William Chambers all of Monroe County. The funeral rites will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the residence, one mile east of the Arlington school. The Rev. A. W. Harvey will be in charge of the services. Interment will be in the Clear Creek cemetery. The deceased has been taken from Allen Funeral Home and will lie in state at the residence until the hour of the rites. Pallbearers will be Lawson, Orin, John, Shelby and Marion Dearmin and Claude Akers. the sons. son-in-law and grandson of the deceased. Mrs. Elizabeth Denney, 82 of Paragon, died Wednesday in her home. She was the wife of Howard Denney. She was a native of Monroe County, the daughter of Dallas and Margaret (Gillaspy) McCoy. Besides the husband, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edith Ladyman, Paragon, and Mrs. Jacob Voelker, Indianapolis, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Paragon Christian church with burial in the IOOF cemetery at Paragon. The body will remain at the Cure and Hensley Funeral home at Martinsville until two hours before the service, when it will be taken to the church. BLOOMINGTON — Fredrick Parker Dorman, 76 of Bloomington passed away on December 27, 2019. He was born on May 10, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri; the son of Henry James and Edna Irene (Smith) Dorman. He was a retired employee of G.E.’s Cleaning and Bonderizing Department. Fred loved the outdoors, hunting deer and mushrooms. He was a fine gardener an Army veteran and a member of Church of God World Will Association (COGWWA). He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Lisa; parents, Henry and Edna Dorman; brothers, Jan, Paul, Pat, and Hunter; sister, Beth Dorman; and brothers-in-law, Joseph Wayne and Joe Kennedy. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Dorman of Bloomington; brothers and sisters, Darlene Kennedy of Gallion, Ohio; Diane Dorman of New Albany, IN; Howard (Joyce) Dorman of Bloomfield, IN and James (Phyllis) Dorman of Seymour, IN; nieces and nephews, Gayle, Sherrie, Jodie, Bruce, Terry, Bill, Mark, Kathy, Lane, Pam, Betsy, Peggy, Ted, Danny, Stewart, Mike, Kim, Liz, Curt, Doug, and Robert. 10-YEAR OLD DIES OF MEASLES Another death was added to the long list of measles victims when Charles Mitchell Dutton, age 10, died Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the parent’s home, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dutton, near Maple Grove. The youngster was sick fifteen weeks, and his illness was a long drawn out battle with death. He is survived by the father and mother, one brother and on sister. The father is a well known farmer. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Maple Grove and the burial was in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. E. M.
