The divorce case of Rosetta Wright formerly of Kingman against her
husband, Martin M. Wright, which was tried in the Fountain Circuit Court
recently before Judge Livengood resulted in a decree of divorce granted
Mrs. Wright. Both parties to the suit are well known in Crawfordsville.
This case has been pending in the courts for more than a year and has
been quite a history.  The petition was filed in the Fountain Circuit
Court.  In October 1911, by OP Lewis and although neither party in such
cases can demand a jury, the defendant took a change of venue from
Fountain on account of illegal bias and prejudice and the case was sent
to Warren.  In the meantime the plaintiff and several of the chief
witnesses in the case moved to Crawfordsville, whereupon the plaintiff
asked for a change of venue from Warren County on account of the
convenience of witnesses and train schedules and the case was sent to
Montgomery County.  No chance seemingly appeared for reconciliation and
the property rights of the parties having been adjusted out of court,
the cause was by agreement sent back to the original jurisdiction.
There were several interesting intention to be tried.

A restraining order was granted plaintiff and served on the defendant to
prevent him from interfering with her person or property.

He was also placed under heavy bond to keep the peace.  Later on he was
cited for contempt of court violating the restraining order, but the
cause was finally determined without sensation and the divorce granted
on the ground of non-support

Mrs. Wright had a nice little estate left her by her father, John
Jackson Lewis, a prominent and well to do citizen of Parke County.  She
was induced to trade her farm for town property including a livery
stable which Mr. Wright conducted until general neglect on his part
wrecked the business.  As the fruit of their marriage, they have a
beautify daughter, Ruby and ... over 14 years of age ... (looks like the
paper may have been folded over as can read little after that .. to her
custody was ... she is with her.  (sorry)   --- kbz
