James Smith
My connection to Fountain Co. is my 2nd ggrandfather was James Smith, the first child of Berryman and Nancy (Lopp) Smith. James was born in Fountain Co. 14 Aug 1828 and lived there until 1854, when he sold all his property and moved to Marion Co., IA,. There he married Rebecca Jane Mathew, and in 1864 they moved to Union Co., OR.. Even after his move to Iowa, James continued to be connected to Fountain Co. through the deaths of his father and mother.
