I John Mick Sr of Fountain County state of Indiana do make and publish this my last will and testament. First, I bequeath my soul to God who gave it and my body to the dust to be interred in a decent manner as my executors shall direct and as to such world estate as it has pleased God to instrust me with, I dispose of the same in the following manner to wit I direct first that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible out of the first monies that shall come into the hands of my executors. I also direct that a fair valuation be made of all my estate except those articles hereafter specially bequeathed. By three of my neighbors, unofficiallly ? signed with their names that a copy thereof be given to each of my executors.  I direct that the whole of my household furniture .. remain in the possession of my beloved wife ..ing her life and at her death direct the same to be divided between my son Alfred and my daughter Sarah the rest of my personal estate I direct shall be sold by my executors as soon after my decease as they conveniently can.  I direct that the moneys arising therefor can after the payment of my debts anactu.. all expenses the ballance thereof shall be loaned out at interest for the benefit of my wife provided however if she shall choose to select one hundred dollars of said property in lieu of said property interest. She shall have the privilege so to do and I herein direct that my daughter Sarah shall have one hundred dollars out of my personal property at the appraised value thereof or one hundred dollars as soon as it can be collected at her election of real estate I direct shall be disposed of all follows towit: I direct that the whole thereof be and remain in the possession of my dear wife whilst she shall live and to my son Alfred the following designated partial of lands to wit: the north fraction of the north west quarter of section 4 in township 20 N of range of Sec 33 in Township 21 North of Range 6 West containing 77.44 also 22 1/2 acres of the south and W 1/2 SE 1/4 in the remainder of my real estate to be by my executors sold in whatever way they may think best and the proceeds thereafter to be equally among all my children and Share and share alike and in -- of my personal estate that shall remain my wife also the money which has been designated to be put out at Interest shall be given out among them all as above and then made and ordained my esteemed son John Mick Junr and Joseph Chisam (son-in-law) Exec of this last will and testament in witness thereof I John Mick Sen the testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this 5th day of Dec in the year AD 1839. By the above named John Mick Sen as his last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in the presence of the said testator and in the present of each other.  HS Scott seal Elizabeth Caden mark & seal, state of Indiana Fountain County - this very ? personally came Floyd ? Scott one of the subscribing witnesses to the withing will before the undesigned clen ? of the Fountain Probate court of said county and being duly sworn on his oath says that he seen John Mick sign seal publish and deliver  the within writing as his last will and testament that he was of full age to devise his property and of sound mind and memory and in no __ on restraint at the time of executing the same and he signed his name thereto in the presence of the testator and at his request.  HScott.
