The death of Fred Cramer, which occurred Monday fornoon at the home of his mother, Mrs. Samuel Cramer, three miles north of Winamac, came as a great surprise to most people. Many knew that he was fighting a siege of typhoid fever, but few knew that he was so bad. In preparation for removeal to Okalahoma, as mentioned in the Democrat, Fred and his brother Charley both made public sales, on Jan. 28 and Feb. 5, respectively, Fred and wife were at his mother's home awaiting the time for the two families
to leave. He had been complaining for a month or so of not feeling well, but was not taken really sick until Feb. 12. He grew steadily worse, and the end came sixteen days thereafter. George F. Cramer was born June 13, 1881, near the farm on which he died. His age at death being 28 years, 8 months and 15 days. On Dec. 31, 1895, he was married to Miss Ona Roberts. Two children came to them, but only the youngest is living a little son about two years of age. Besides a wife and son he is mourned by mother, four sisters and two brothers, and a large circle of friends. Fred was recognized as a hard worker and a good straight young man, and his death appears to be sadly untimely. The funeral was today, from the M.E. Church, services by Rev. Warriner and interment on the hill.* *note, not a typo. This obit is for Fred Cramer but the writer calls him "George" in the last stanza.
