Slife, John
John Slife, served in Company K, 48th Indiana Infantry and then was
transferred to Company K, 17th Veteran Reserve Corps. He came to Jefferson
Township with his parents and sister 1850-1860, served in the Civil War,
lived in Indianapolis for a few years and then returned to Jefferson
Township where he lived with his wife, Nancy, until his death in 1924.
Buried in Idle Cemetery.
