45th ANNIVERSARY OF
JOHN HENRY & FLORA REYNOLDS TODD

Karen, this is a partially-restored photo of John & Flora Todd on their 45th wedding anniversary…on Feb. 6, 1952. Married Feb. 6, 1907 in Crawfordsville. I have other photos on that day, including one of those photos posted in a Watkins magazine called, "The co-operator", praising Grampa John Henry as one of their good salesmen. Their is also a history on that vase that Gramma is holding. It was a gift from my Dad, Francis ("Frank") Leverett Todd from when he was in Rome during World War II. The vase ended up in several households...Gramma & Grampa's home in Logansport (where they are in photo), my parents' house in Logansport (Frank & Rosemary), then in my sister Marie's home in Houston, Texas, then, finally to me in San Jose, Ca., Westland, Michigan, and now in Ann Arbor, Mi. The vase was in a state of disrepair for years in my parents' attic, having broken on the neck of the vase. I repaired it several times...so did my Dad...finally Crazy Glue worked, if you can believe it. I took updated photos of it in Feb. of 2010, one of the photos shows me standing in the snow, with the restored vase full of red velvet roses and artificial baby's breath, birds, and other things. It's as if the vase was full of life, itself. A vase full of living memories. So, this photo represents three histories...Gramma and Grampa's 45th wedding anniversary (I altered the shape in this photo), Grampa's history with Watkins, and the history of the vase full of roses and memories. I will never forget them. I have many photos to send to you now that I know how to do the attachments. I wish you had Facebook, as the histories and other photos...many, many photos...both family and otherwise...are already posted there. I will send you the other photos and histories on that day. I also have stuff on their Golden Anniversary, and, of course, you already have their restored portrait on their wedding day of February 6, 1907. Angie Todd

The original cutout from the April, 1952 writeup in the Watkins magazine, "The Co-operator". This was in Gramma Flora's photo album. I don't know where the original photo is, but, I have other photos snapped at that same time. It appears that Gramma is holding, perhaps, a dozen red roses with ferns and whatever. That vase has a whole history, too.

"Oh, the weather outside was frightful!"

Another shot snapped the same day...in their driveway on Rural Route 3, a stone's throw from
the south entrance to the Logansport, Indiana city limits. On Highway 29.
