France, March 24, 1918 Dear Mother Have not received any mail from you yet, but hope to soon, if you sent any to Camp Meade. Am feeling fine and working hard every day. There is not much doing around here at present. We get to see them firing at aeroplanes most every good day. We are having some fine wather here now. I like it here all right but would not care to make my home here. Have never yet seen a country in my travels that I would rather have for a home than the good old US. We are living under the new daylight plan now, the clocks were set up after we got here. Will be all right when the days get longer. It is getting dark on me, so will close for this time. Your son, Elvin   -- typed by kbz
