Waveland Independent Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana June 13, 1919 Ensign Robert I. Taylor of Winina Lake, Ind has been placed on inactive duty in the US Naval Reserve Force and has taken a position as salesman with Oliver Chilled Plow Works of South Bend.

Waveland Independent Oct 5, 1917 Robert TAYLOR left Winona at 1:30 last Saturday for the Great Lakes Training Station where he will spend 6 months in training and then will be placed in foreign service. He enlisted in June but has just been called. He thinks he will be placed in the submarine department.

Waveland Independent Nov 23, 1917 Robert Taylor, who has been in the Naval Training School at Great Lakes near Chicago spent Tuesday and Wednesday here. He has to report in Newport RI Sunday. He looks every inch a sailor lad in his "blues."

Waveland Independent July 13, 1928 - Ford CAR Mr. and Mrs. Robert TAYLOR, of Winter Haven, Florida are here for a month's vacation at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Taylor. They made the drive of 1100 miles in a Model A. Ford and had NO trouble. The last day - and night - they made 475 miles. When they got to Evansville the night was so fine and the road so good that they just kept on coming. Robert is engaged in selling Ford and Fordsons and says that business has been good, and that they have been able to get the cars.

Other survivors are wife; former Rose Sutton; daughter, Mrs. James M. Shipe and granddaughter; and son James Monroe. Born in Waveland Dec 26, 1894, son of Charles B. and Mary Lucinda Milligan Taylor. Member of First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven where he had served both as deacon and elder and was president of Men's Sunday School class. He was a member of Rotary 19 years and perfect attendance - sung at Rotary Club the day he died. Connected with Tate Phillips motor Co and American Legion. Funeral services were set for Saturday afternoon at First Presbyterian Church, Winter Haven.
