FRED PORTER -- WWI Letter
Source: Waveland Independent newspaper, Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana May 3, 1918
Fred Porter, who is with the American forces in France, writes to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walker Porter of Portland Mills Dear Folks: Just a few lines to let you know that I am well and hoping that you are the same. We are having some nice weather over here. I have been transferred to another brigade and like it all right. I am still in a machine gun brigade. I was in a hospital with my knees for awhile but they are all right now. I don't know much to write but I guess youc an see by the papers what we are doing to the Dutch. Think I will be home before summer is over. -- kbz
