PIERCE - RIVERS - TILLEY

Corporal Ralph C. Tilley son of Mrs. John Tilley, enlisted in the 5th Pioneer Infantry at St. Paul Minn as an Electrician. He was stationed at Spartansburg, SC when the Review blank was filled out. Corporal Tilley was born in this city July 5, 1897 and has lived in this county for 17 years. He attended school in Crawfordsville and also in New Richmond and then graduated from the high school at LeSeur Center, Minn in 1917. He is a member of the Christian Church. His father died 18 years ago.
Pvt. Loye J. Pierce, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pierce, left in the county draft increment last July in the special contingent for motor mechanic service for Valparaiso, Ind. He is now stationed at Ann Arbor, Mich. Pvt. Pierce was born near Waynetown Feb 17, 1897, and has lived in this county all his life. He married Miss Ruth Neal, April 7, 1917. He received his education at the Waynetown schools. He is a member of the Christian Church.
Sgt. Lawrence Raymond Rivers, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Rivers, left in the county draft increment May 6, 1913, for Ft. Benjamin Harrison. He was still stationed there when the Review blank was filled out. Sgt. Rivers was born near Wingate, Nov 2, 1895, and has lived in this county all his life. He was married to Miss Maude May Shular, Oct 7, 1917. He graduated from the Waynetown HS. He is a member of the Baptist Church. He was promoted to Sgt. Major August 5, 1918.
