Alamo, Nov 11 – Russell Pickett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ora Pickett of this place, died yesterday at the Great Lakes Naval Training station of a complication of diseases, resulting from pneumonia and influenza. He enlisted in the navy in the early part of the summer. The young man was 22 years 2 months 19 days old at the time of his death and he was born August 26, 1896 near this place. He is survived by the father and mother, one brother, and one brother has preceded him in death. He was a member of the Red Men’s Lodge here. The body arrived in Waynetown this afternoon at 1 o’clock but no definite arrangements have been made as yet for the funeral   -- kbz
