KARLE, Albert

Albert Bernard Karle was born at 500 W. Market, in Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana ten days before Christmas in 1896. Of medium height, at 5'8" he weight about 190 pounds. His eyes were grey and he had ruddy complexion.
In the Crawfordsville City Directories of the 1930s, Karle was listed as President of the A-Loaf Baking Company and lived at 900 West Main, but by 1942, had moved to RR #5. In 1957, he and wife Elizabeth were found living at 1501 VanBuren in Hollywood, Florida.
He and Elizabeth Wallace had at least 3 children, Albert August born March 19, 1927 at 11:20 p.m. delivered by Dr. Thomas Z. Ball. Lucretia Ann born at 10:30 p.m. on Feb 25, 1931 by Dr. A.A. Swope. Their third child, Bernard Wallace was born Sept 23, 1939 at 3:01 a.m. with Dr. John L. Sharp (?). This time, Elizabeth was given a bit of a drug called Argarol. but it does not seem to have been used for childbirth that I have found.
Although little could be found, including his WWI draft papers, in regards to his service, he did return with many other soldiers on the SS Espagne sailing from Bordeaux in France on January 25, 1919 arriving in NY on Feb 7, 1919. He is aged 22 and his birthdate is December 15, 1896 in the US Army on "orders" with his address as 511 So. Walmint (sure that'd be Walnut) Street in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
On his tombstone in Calvary Cemetery, it notes that he was a 1st Sgt in the 60th Artillery AEF. He passed away in 1977 of cardiac arrest. His parents were Albert August and Anna Tobin. Elizabeth died seven years prior.
