Appreciate Red Cross
Williamsbridge, NY Aug 25, 1918 Dear Mother and All: Will drop you a few lines to let you know I am feeling fine after my long ride on the train which lasted for two and a half days and two nights from Camp Greenleaf, GA to Recruit Camp, NY where I am now stationed. Hope when these few lines reach you it will find you well. Well, Mother, this is a fine camp. We sure have been treated fine by the Red Cross all along the way. They gave us plenty of good eats and good coffee. Have this letter put in the Waveland paper for I want everybody in Waveland to know what the Red Cross is doing for us boys who are doing our bit in this Great World War. As I want to get some rest from my long journey, I will write more next time.
Your loving son, Henry H. Hickman US General Hospital No 1, Recruit camp, WIlliamsbridge, NY
