LEWIS FISHER

Mrs. Lew Fisher is in receipt of the following clipping taken from a Baltimore paper and sent to her by her husband, Lew Fisher of the Wide-Awake store. Mr. Fisher is with the Three Hundred and Twenty-Fourth Field Signal Batallion now located at Camp Benjamin Franklin which is a part of Ft. Meade in New Jersey and the extractr will no doubt be of great interest to his many friends here at home.

The 324th which was longer in training in this camp than any other unit organized here, has just arrived from a port of embarkation. The men left here August 12 for Camp Vale, Little Silver, NJ where they had final training. From there they went to Camp Merritt and thence to NY City for embarkation. They actually got on board the transport and were on the point of sailint for Freance when the final signing of the armistice delayed their trip.

This outfit, headed by Major Moore, was originally formed in Pittsburgh by volunteers. They are in the Camp Benjamin Franklin, the new signal camp, where many other battalions are expected from camps in this country and from overseas.
