CLASS ONE OF COLORED BOYS EXHAUSTED TODAY Left for Camp Dodge Iowa, Board Receives call from Mcchanics school and volunteer Stenographers Six colored boys left today at 1:43 on the Monon for Camp Dodge Iowa. They will arrive there at noon tomorrow. A big celebration in their honor was held Wednesday night at the A.M.E. church and a big send off was given to them today. These going were William Lester Smith Welton J. Rice Henry Churchill Sylvester Norvell Claude Hoard John England All these boys have been bothering the local board for months for a call and it has been a case hunting to take care of them. This exhausts class one of the colored boys for the present and makes twenty of these boys now in service from this county. Several have been married men who have voluntarily waived deferred classification. – thanks to Kim H
