Official lists of Indiana’s soldiers who have died in the war are not obtainable, either at Washington or elsewhere. The following names have been compiled from a thorough examination of files of daily newspapers and if there are errors or omissions it is due to the fact that records in the War Department have not yet been segregated into states so as to be quickly available….

Alexander Coleman, Crawfordsville, died in service, Jan 23, 1918.

Lt. Russell H. Dwiggins, Waynetown, died in service April 4, 1918

Lt. Col. Robert Youngman, Crawfordsville died in service Jan 29, 1918 at his home, 316 E. Franklin Street in Crawfordsville with a metastic malignant growth on left kidney.  He was married to Vera Smith. Born Feb 5, 1880 he died at age 37 Years 11 Months 24 Days and was a local shoe dealer. His parents were William M. Youngman and Betty Hewlings.  Buried Oak Hill Cemetery by Barnhill-Templeton Undertakers on the 31st of the month.
