In spite of the fact that Ernest Bebee (sic - Beebe) of Whitesville is reported in today's casualty list, he is likely celebrating with the rest of the Yankes "over there." A telegram announced that Pvt Ernest Bebee was missing in action October 14, was received several days ago by his father, Fred Bebee of Whitesville. Since this however, letters have been received from the son, the last one of ? was written November 3. Pvt Bebee was engaged in farming before America's part in the war. But soon after the declaration of war he enlisted with the 4th Infantry at Jeffersonville.
(note: he must have come home as he died in 1979)
