AUTER Reunion - 1965

The 45th annual AUTER reunion was held Sunday Aug 15 at the Covington City Park. 40 relatives and friends joined in the noon meal after a prayer by Newman Auter, Jr. After dinner the treasurer’s report was given and officers were elected. The oldest woman present was Mrs. Sarah Young who is 83. The oldest man present was Ingold Auter age 75 and Sue Ann Auter, age 2 daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neuman Auter, Jr. of Danville was the youngest. A dollar was given to each of these three. A prize also was given to the family traveling the farthest and this went to Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Auter of Griffith. The program committee directed several games, the winners of which also received prizes. Later in the afternoon ice cream was served and a number of friends of the family visited the reunion. A good time is reported. – kbz
