Hillsboro Feb 5 – the damage suit of Lee R. Maupin of Catlin, Ill against Roy Wright of Hillsboro was started in the circuit court at Danville, Ill Thursday. The case grew out of the death of the small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Maupin who was accidentally struck by the Wright car in December in Danville while visiting relatives and died a few minutes afterwards on the way to the hospital. The child accompanied by a relative last December had been visiting in Danville and were on their way to board a street car for their return home in Catlin when Wright was attempting to turn from east Main street into Illinois street the little girl stepped directly in front of the Wright car. The driver did not see her in time to stop. She was knocked unconscious and died a few minutes afterwards. The case was settled out of court Friday. It was stated that Maupin will receive $1,500.
