Hillsboro, Aug 2 -- Burglars visited the country homes of George Parker and H.I. Starnes who reside on state road 34 east of Hillsboro THursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Parker were away form home from 2-4:30 and Mr. and Mrs. Starnes were in Crawfordsville in the afternoon attending the fair. C.D> Parker and Jack Parker, both of Chicago the former being the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Parker, arrived at the home of his parents about 3 o'clock and finding them gone remained on the front porch. It is thought that they frightened away the burglars, who entered and left through a window in the rear of the home. The articles that have been missing include a gold ring and earrings that Mrs. Parker had had a number of years. They had emptied all the dresser and book case drawers and all boxes of papers as if they were hunting for money. They also had arranged a large number of suits, coats and clothing which they had taken from the closet and it was thought they had intended to take them but were frightened away by the arrival of the Parkers from Chicago. At the Starnes home they had taken rings and other keepsake articles and their search was similar to the Parker home.
