NIXON, Grant - assaults girl

Danville, Ill June 24 – Grant Nixon 19 years old and who recently removed from Fountain County, Indiana to Armstrong in this county, committed a brutal outrage upon the 13 year old daughter of Max Well, a substantial farmer living near Armstrong. Nixon met Miss Weller on the highway and without any words made an assault upon her, tearing her clothes off her back and beating her into insensibility. Searching parties were immediately organized, but have been unable to find the scoundrel.

Grant Nixon, a young farmer living in Fountain County met a 13-year-old daughter of Max Weller, living near Danville on the road Monday and tore her clothes off and beat her unmercifully. He fled and has not been captured yet. - kbz

Grant Nixon, 17 years old committed an assault on a German Girl, aged 13 years near Armstrong, Vermilion County. THe country is being scoured to find him and he is likely to be lynched if captured.
NOTE: Could not find the outcome of this - hope they caught him if indeed he was guilty - so very sad for that little girl :(
