Issue Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Linville and son, John of near Mellott accompanied by another son, Lawrence near Wingate have returned home from a visit with relatives in Marysville, Mo. WHile there on Feb 3 they celebrated the 55th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Linvile and the 86th birthday anniversary of Mr. Linville and his twin brother, James Linville with wom they were visiting. The Linville twins were born in Fountain County Feb 3, 1853, Leonard Linville has lived in Montgomery and Fountain County most of his life, with farming as his principal occupation. James Linville, a carpenter by trade has spent most of his life in Missouri. The twins have a brother, John Linville, a retired merchant in Hillsboro, who is 90 years of age.

The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Linville, highly respected citizens of Wingate where they have resided a number of years wa cleebrated at the home of their son, Mr. and Mrs. John Linville, northeast of Hillsboro Saturday afternoon and evening Feb 3. Open house was held in the afternoon with about 75 friends and neighbors calling to extend congratulations. Feb 3 was also the 85th birthday anniversary of Mr. Linville and his twin brother, James T. Linville of Maryville, Mo; John D. Linville of Hillsboro is a brother and all three have passed their 80th mileston in lifes journey. A 7 o'clock dinner was served to the immediate family including about 40 guests. Seated at the table with the honor guests were his brother, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Linville of Hillsboro, her brother, William Bain of Indianapolis, their sons, Lawrence Linville of Jackson Heights and John Linville and Mrs. and Mrs. Charles Webb and Mrs. Mary Hamilton of Wingate, very close friends. The table was centered with yellow roses and the place cards were gold and white. Miss Sarah Bain and Leonard Linville were united in marriage on Sunday evening Feb 3, 1884 at the parsonage of the Methodist Church in Wingate wiht Rev. John Maxwell officiating. Witnesses were his twin brother, James T. Linville, her brother, William Bain and Charles Webb, Mr. Bain and Mrs. Webb being present for the celebration. The bride was the daughter of Mrs. Lydia Bain, her father having died when she was quite young. Her mother, later married John McJimsey. Mr. Linville was the son of William and Margaret Linville. Mr. and Mrs. Linville have spent their entire married life in Wingate and vicinity and were the parents of 5 children, a daughter, Gladys and an infant son, Manford both deceased and 3 sons, Lawrence of Jackson Heights, John of near HIllsboro and Paul residing in the west. Mrs. Linville is 73 and both are enjoying good health. All of the near relatives with the exception of Paul Linville and family and one niece were present to participate in the celebration Saturday. The guests were delightfully entertained with songs by Nancy Harriman, aged 3 and sister, Mary, aged 5, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Harriman. Mrs. Harriman and Mrs. George Berryhill sang, "When you & I Were Young, Maggie," and "Silver Threads Among the Gold." Tea and wafers were served during the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Linville were presented a number of pretty and useful gifts as remembrances of their years. (? on last words)
