A year or more ago, William Laird of Hillsboro, was killed by a Big Four train, he being under the influence of liquor at the time. It was claimed that the intoxicants were sold him by William Bowers, of Hillsboro, and the widow accordingly brought suit against Bowers and his bondsmen for damages. The case was tried at Covington this week and resulted in a finding for the defendants. --- kbz
