KELLER, David - declared insane

Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal 19 June 1890

In February David Keller, a young man from Fountain County, came to this place and began work for John Shaffer, two miles west of the city. Some time since, his actions became peculiar and a few days ago he began to hint that he was good to do up the community at large. Yesterday he became so violent in his threats upon the life of the Shaffer family that he was arrested this morning at the instigation of Mr. Justice Ramsey. A short examination showed the man, who is barely twenty three years old, to be violently insane and he was committed to the county jail. Mr. Shaffer endeavored to call an inquest but as he hailed from Fountain County, the authorities refused and he will be sent there. His father has been telegraphed for and will come for him.
