65th anniversary of Jacob E. Fine and wife is observed. Mr. & Mrs. Jacob E. Fine of Wallace, parents of Mrs. Clark D. Jones, 101 Simpson Street, Crawfordsville quietly observed their 65th wedding anniversary Sunday at their home. Although their advanced age prevented them from keeping open house 2 dozen or more of their relatives and close friends called during the afternoon to extend congratulations and best wishes. They were the recipients of many flowers and post cards. Mr. and Mrs. Fine were married March 17, 1881 at Wallace. Mrs. Fine was Maria Keller before their marriage. At the time of their marriage, Mr. fine was residing on a farm near Wallace. Following residence on the farm for a number of years after their marriage, they moved into Wallace and Mr. Fine conducted a furniture store and undertaking establishment for several years. For 25 years he was associated with Farmers Bank of Wallace, most of the time as cashier. Mr. Fine retired some 10 years ago or more from active business. He is now 87 and Mrs. Fine 86. Mr. and Mrs. Fine were the parents of four children, three of whom are living. One son, Earl Fine died of pneumonia on Nov 1, 1918 in France while overseas in WWI. Besides Mrs. Jones, the daughter in Crawfordsville, the other children are two sons, Clarence Fine of Indianapolis and Austin Fine of Wallace. In addition to Mr. and Mrs. Jones among those from Crawfordsville who were at the Fine home during the day Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Worley, Samuel Walker and sisters, Misses Stella and Nellie; Mr. and Mrs. DW Barnett; Mrs. Friz Smith and son, Lyle; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Smith and Mrs. Belle Barnett.
