Cruea - Knapp - 23# catfish
Source: The Covington People’s Friend 15 July 1886 p 1
Last Friday morning Wm. Cruey (sic) and Charley Knapp came into town like the spies from the land of promise only instead of grapes hanging from the pole on their shoulders was a catfish weighing 23 pounds. The catfish had swallowed a pound and a half perch that had been caught by Crewey’s (sic) hook and the old man caught two fish on one hook. - kbz
