The annual reunion of the Cronkhite family will be held Sunday Aug 20 at the home of LC Cronkhite, one mile south of Marshfield. Records show that the Cronkhite family came to America from Holland, Lagendyck on the River Kumrie in the District of Zevewolds or Seven Forests about 1642, and settled in the State of New York. Descendants gradually driving westward and reaching west Indiana near Marshfield in 1826-28 made their homes on government land and later purchased this same land. This event is being held on the homestead entered by Levi Cronkhite, LC Cronkhite being a grandson. Last year nearly 200 came together for t his event and even more are expected this time. The states of Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Illinois and Indiana were represented. A basket dinner will be served and a short program will be rendered.
